¿Pero qué tantos eventos conforma al Stampede? Yo soy nueva en la ciudad y escribiré sobre lo que he visto, no dudo que haya muchísimos eventos más en diferentes puntos de la ciudad relacionados con este festival, que ya iré descubriendo con el paso de los años.
Semanas antes del festival, muchos negocios por toda la ciudad empiezan a decorar con motivos vaqueros para ir entrando en ambiente, decoran los vidrios y dentro del edificio también, estos son algunos que he visto:

In the city of Calgary on Alberta, is a very old tradition, Every month of July they celebrate for 10 days a huge festival called Calgary Stampede. The first Stampede is dated back in 1919 and the motive was to celebrate the safe returned of their soldiers from World War I. Currently this festival is considered one of the most important festivals in all Canada and is a huge touristic attraction to the city of Calgary, which is visited by people from all over the country and from other countries too; most of the people who work at the Stampede are volunteer citizens and they are glad to serve their city.
But, how many events are at the Stampede? I am new in town, so I will mention what I've seen around the city, but I'm pretty sure there are tons of other fun stuff related to this festival that I will be discovering over the next years.
Weeks before the festival, a lot of buildings all over the city are decorated outside and inside as well with cowboy themes to start getting in the howdy mood, they look great, is very nice.

Otra actividad notable del festival: ¡Los desayunos gratis! en muchos puntos de la ciudad cientos de ciudadanos voluntarios se levantan desde muy temprano para preparar toneladas de desayunos gratis, cualquier persona puede ir a desayunar, no hay ningún requisito, puedes ir todos los días antes de ir a trabajar; Los desayunos son completos, algunos consisten en huevos con tocino, frijoles y jugo, o café o pancakes con tocino y salchichas o así, diferentes combinaciones, pero siempre muy completos.

Another remarkable activity from the festival: Free breakfast! yup you read well, on several parks and spots all over the city you can go and enjoy a delicious complete breakfast before you hit to work, every day hundreds of volunteers get up very early to prepare tons of food to happily feed whoever goes to eat, breakfasts vary, some have eggs, bacon and beans, others have pancakes, eggs, bacon, and so on, You can check at the page of tourism places, hours and everything related to the Calgary free breakfasts:

¿Otro atractivo más? ¡Conciertos! Por supuesto que la mayoría son de música Country peeroooo también hay algunos muy interesantes de rock que vale la pena revisar, como por ejemplo este año estuvieron grupos de la talla de: Blink 182, Kiss, Billy Idol, The Cult y otras más, en estos conciertos grandes hay que pagar extra pero pienso que en uno o 2 vale la pena. Hay otros conciertos que están incluídos con el boleto de entrada, en el escenario de Coca Cola, por lo que investigué la mayoría eran de Pop o Country (en lo personal no soy muy afecta a esa música, pero cuando fui el grupo que estaba tocando sonaba bastante bien, su música tenía calidad)

Another great thing related to the Stampede? Concerts! of course most of them are Country music, but... wait! there are some for us rock music lovers! this year Blink 182, Billy Idol, Kiss, The Cult and some others came to town, sweet! right? on these concerts you pay extra but I think is worth it. There are other concerts included on the ticket and for what I investigated, most of them are Pop or Country local bands or from other parts of Canada, (personally I don't like those genres of music, but I think at least, the band I heard when I went, their music had quality and was easy listening)

Y ahora ¡hablemos de comida dentro del Parque! TODO se ve delicioso, siento decir que no es apto para personas que están a dieta o que quieren comer saludable, este evento es un paraíso de la comida no nutritiva, así que si vas prepárate para romper esa dieta, porque es 100% seguro que algo se te va a antojar, hay para todos los paladares y antojos, aquí unas fotos de algunas comidas:
And now lets talk about food! EVERYTHING looks delicious, I'm sorry to say this but this place is not for those who are on a diet or want to eat more healthy, so if you go I am 100% sure you will eat something inside the park, this is a paradise of sweets and fast food, so if you are on diet, you will break it here, there's food for every taste, here are some pictures of what they sell:
Mmmm rico ¿verdad? Pero no todo es comida ¡también hay juegos! y muy divertidos, por cierto, también es ellos se paga extra, pero no es caro y te diviertes muchísimo
Nom nom, right? But not everything is food of course, and there are several fun activities too, you have to pay extra to play but they are not expensive and you can have tons of fun, or at least we did, we felt like kids again

| Esta atracción es gratis y es muy divertida, el objetivo es por medio de una pistola que avienta un chorro de agua darle al objetivo que tienes enfrente para que suba la camioneta, la camioneta que llegue primero arriba gana una camiseta, pero si no ganas como quiera te dan premio de consolación. This attraction is so much fun and is free, the object is to continuously hit your target with a water gun to make the truck go up. the first truck to hit the mark wins a t-shirt, but if you don't win, doesn't matter you get a small prize anyway |

La villa de los nativos está genial, desafortunadamente llegamos ahí muy tarde y sólo pudimos ver los tipis, pero tengo entendido que hacen danzas y ellos platican sobre sus tradiciones, suena muy interesante.
The Indian Village, unfortunately we got there too late and they were about to close, but we got to see the gorgeous tipis, for what I heard the first nation people dance and talk about some of their traditions, that sounds very interesting.
También fuimos a visitar a los militares, que como siempre muy amables explicando todo sobre los vehículos o cualquier duda relacionada con el ejército.
Of course we also visited the Canadian military, as usual they were extra nice answering tons of questions abouts the vehicles or any other questions military related.
Y por supuesto el ¡show nocturno de los fuegos artificiales!
And of course, at night the fireworks!
Para terminar, no menciono aquí nada sobre el rodeo, que precisamente de eso se trata este festival, porque no apoyo los eventos en donde se utilicen a los animales como entretenimiento, eso incluye circos, lugares como Sea World, etc. pero esa es una convicción personal, si eres de la personas que le gusta ese tipo de espectáculos este festival te encantaría.

Lastly, the reason I don´t mention here anything about the rodeo, which is precisely what this festival is all about, is because I don't support shows where animals are been used as a mean of entertainment, that includes circus, Sea World and so. but that´s a personal point of view and if you are the kind of person who enjoy those kind of shows, you are going to love the Stampede.
